First task was to remove the playfield out of
the cabinet and place on my rotisserie that I had made. Removed all rubbers,
lane guides, plastics, pop bumper assemblies - Completely stripped all parts
from the top of the playfield. Cleaned playfield with Novus 2 and applied Canarba Wax. Decided not to attempt any playfield touch-ups at this early stage
of my resto work. Replaced all light sockets and bulbs in playfield. Replaced
Pop Bumper bodies and caps, Replaced lane guides, posts and all rubbers, Replaced
Flipper Bats with original type plastic. Replaced all plastics with repos.
Transformer was replaced as well as
all pop bumper coils and flipper coils.
Appeared the Playfield has been
painted with some type of varnish - Had to leave as is.
Before
After
CABINET , BACK BOX,
APRON and COIN DOOR
First task was to start at the cabinet /
back box and coin door - Removed coin door & Ball shooter, Stripped old paint
off cabinet and back box, fortunately the original art was visible, so I was
able to trace the artwork, all dents and cracks were filled , applied
2 coats of undercoat , 2 coats of water based enamel ( All these coatings
were applied by a small paint roller - This full process can be found at
CabinetPainting with a Roller
at my Tips and Informationpage.
Existing Coin Door was cleaned, Coin
insert panel was replaced. New Apron decal came with the machine - this was
applied to the existing apron. Lockdown Bar ends were replaced as well.
Legs were lightly sanded with 800 wet and
dry sand paper using METAL MAGIC as the liquid.
As you can see in the pictures,
quite happy with the final result compared to how it looked before
